At the 8th Feminist Summit in Aden, Officer-in-Charge of UNMHA, Mari Yamashita joined women leaders and partners as Hudaydah women brought their insights, determination, and experiences into a national space for dialogue on peace and resilience.

UNMHA worked with UN Women Yemen and Wogood for Human Security to support their participation, creating space for women who have shaped Quick Impact Projects in the districts of Hays and Al Khawkha to share how skills, livelihoods support, and community networks are strengthening confidence and resilience on the ground.

“Women’s leadership and participation are essential for community resilience and fundamental to any lasting peace,” Ms. Yamashita said, a message she has reiterated throughout her engagements with communities and partners in Hudaydah.

On this occasion, Dina Zorba, UN Women’s Representative in Yemen, highlighted the importance of investing in women’s economic empowerment, noting: “The international community and donors should invest in women led economic programs in ways that transform local markets and create real job opportunities.”

UNMHA remains committed to expanding opportunities for women by supporting practical skills, livelihoods, and platforms where their voices drive the conversations that matter for Yemen’s future.
