SRSG Kaha Imnadze participates in the Women Leaders’ Caucus Meeting in the margins of the Central Asia Heads of State Summit

On 12 November 2025, SRSG Kaha Imnadze, participated in the Meeting of the Central Asia Women Leaders’ Caucus (CAWLC) held in Tashkent in the margins of the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

Hosted by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the leadership of Chairperson Tanzila Narbaeva, the event gathered women parliamentarians, political and public figures, and civil society representatives from all Central Asian countries, as well as the delegation from Azerbaijan.

The Caucus meeting focused on global and regional approaches to women’s rights and gender equality, marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.

In his address, SRSG Imnadze commended Uzbekistan’s leadership and the continued support of the Senate and Ms. Narbaeva for advancing the regional women’s agenda. He underscored the importance of aligning regional efforts with the Beijing Platform and reaffirmed UNRCCA’s continued support to the Women Leaders’ Caucus as a strategic partner in promoting gender equality, peace and stability across Central Asia.

The meeting included thematic sessions on women’s participation in decision-making, entrepreneurship, education and health, innovation and climate policy, and the fight against gender-based violence.

Participants adopted a declaration, and an address to the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, reaffirming commitments to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment as integral elements of sustainable peace and development in the region.

The Women Leaders’ Caucus, established with UNRCCA’s support in 2020, continues to serve as a key regional mechanism for cooperation among women leaders, promoting gender equality, inclusive governance, regional dialogue, and shared prosperity in Central Asia.
