United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert shared this week some of her experiences at a roundtable discussion on the occasion of Women in Diplomacy Day. While barriers and obstacles to women’s participation and leadership in diplomacy still exist - a view expressed by all participants - it was also acknowledged that these can be broken. In her remarks, the Special Coordinator stressed: “Consistent presence, preparation and voice are critical.”
