As part of the twentieth anniversary of the adoption of Resolution 1325, UNOWAS Magazine met Ms. Oulimata Sarr, Regional Director for West and Central Africa of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, UN Women.

In the sub-region, UNOWAS remains mobilized to support the effective implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on women, peace and security.
Five countries will hold elections: Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Niger.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the African Union (AU) and the United Nations will begin a joint high-level visit to Conakry this Thursday 01 October 2020.
