"Money, security and democratic governance in Africa". This is the theme of the meeting organized on 13 September 2017 in Dakar by the Council for Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS) as a prelude to the major conference scheduled for October 19 and 20 in Bamako, Mali. The aim of the meeting in Dakar was to raise the awareness of potential actors and to identify other points of reflection for the Bamako conference. Representatives of embassies accredited to Senegal, sub-regional organizations, civil society organizations (NGOs), and the Think Tank took part in the discussions.
