Closure of UNMIL

The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

<div><br />&bull;&nbsp;The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) has donated an assortment of equipment to the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA).<br />&bull;&nbsp;The Director General of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency commended the UN and the US government for the assistance; stressing that it is a major boost to their operations.</div>

<div>&bull;&nbsp;The Head of Liberia Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority have been commenting on the Recent Delocalized conference of ECOWAS Parliament which was held in Monrovia.<br />&bull;&nbsp;The Gender Coordinator of Lofa County, Madam Esther Konyon, wants perpetrators of rape and other forms of Sexual-Gender Based Violence arrested and prosecuted in keeping with the laws.</div>
