UNOAU's Chief of Staff, Ms. Nathalie Ndongo-Seh welcomed Ms. Silvia Cristina Carvalho and Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed of the UN Department of Field Service (DFS)/Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) to Addis Ababa early this week. Ms. Silva and Mr. Mohamed are on a three month mission in which they will be embedded at the African Union's Knowledge and Exchange Expertise Programme (KEEP). The objective of KEEP is to enhance cooperation between the UN and the AU in the area of peace operations support through developing respective staff knowledge and expertise. In this mission, Mr. Silvia and Mr. Mohamed will focus on building capacities in the areas of information technology (IT) including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Transport Logistics, as well as exchanging best practices and lessons learned.
