ANNADIF reiterates the United Nations commitment to consolidate peace and stability in Mauritania
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office in West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), Mahamat ANNADIF, concluded this morning an official visit to Mauritania.
This visit is part of his familiarization tour in the sub region in his new capacity as Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS).
Discussions addressed aspects of cooperation between Mauritania and the United Nations and various subjects related to the national and regional situation, including means to strengthen UN's support to G5 Sahel countries in their fight against terrorism and insecurity.
Mr. ANNADIF assured the continued support of the United Nations to consolidate peace and stability for the development of Mauritania and the sub-region.
The Special Representative also met with the United Nations country team which implements development programs and projects focused on social cohesion, governance and resilience.
