Continuing his West African tour, the Special Representative ANNADIF concludes his visit to Togo
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), Mahamat ANNADIF, has concluded a two-day visit to Togo.
This visit is part of his familiarization tour in the sub region in his new capacity as Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS).
During his visit, the Special Representative was received in audience by the President of the Republic of Togo, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé. He also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Robert Dussey.
Discussions focused on various subjects related to the national and regional situation, as well as the need to further strengthen the partnership between the United Nations and Togo to consolidate democracy and development. "We will remain committed alongside the Government and the Togolese people to support them in their efforts to build a prosperous Togo," said Mr. ANNADIF.
Mr. ANNADIF also met with the Group of Ambassadors of the G5 (Germany, France, EU, United States), as well as the United Nations country team. He encouraged them to work together for an effective partnership with Togo.
