Dakar, 26 June 2024- The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel, Leonardo Santos Simão, was received yesterday in audience by the President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, H.E. Alassane Ouattara.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced on May 10, 2024, the appointment of Ms. Barrie Freeman of the United States as Deputy Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel.
