25 Sep 2025 - Dakar, 25 September 2025 – Ahead of Côte d’Ivoire’s presidential election scheduled for 25 October 2025, Mr. Leonardo Santos Simão, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, has concluded a high-level mission to Côte d’Ivoire. This visit was part of ongoing efforts by the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS) to support peaceful elections in the country.
