The Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel, Mohamed Ibn Chambas, begins an official visit to Cote d’Ivoire

As part of the United Nations support for the organization of a peaceful, inclusive, transparent and credible presidential election, scheduled for 31 October 2020, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel, Mohamed Ibn Chambas, begins today a one-week visit to Côte d'Ivoire.

During his visit, Mr. Ibn Chambas will meet with the President of Cote d'Ivoire, His Excellency, Alassane Ouattara. He will also have a series of meetings with members of the government, political actors, representatives of the civil society, representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as the United Nations country team.
