Continuing his tour in the sub-region, the Special Representative concludes his visit to Benin
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office in West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), Mahamat ANNADIF, concluded a two-day visit to Benin.
This mission follows on several others already made as part of his familiarization tour in the sub region in his new capacity as Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS).
In Cotonou, the Special Representative had a series of meetings with the authorities of Benin and the United Nations country team. He was received in audience by His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Patrice Talon. He also had discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Aurélien AGBENONCI.
With his interlocutors, the Special Representative exchanged views on various subjects related to the national and regional situation. While renewing the commitment of UNOWAS and the United Nations country team, he stressed the need to further strengthen the partnership between the United Nations and Benin to consolidate democracy and development.
